CCTV News: According to the website of the Chinese Embassy in the United States, on February 28, 2025, Chinese Ambassador to the United States Xie Feng was invited to deliver a speech at the "Duke-North Carolina China Leadership Summit" via video.

Xie Feng pointed out that for more than half a century, China and the United States have been deeply integrated with people's exchanges, and "bridges" have spanned the ocean and connected China and the United States. You and I have you in the two countries. But we must also see that the "ballast stone" of Sino-US economic and trade cooperation is under the impact of protectionism, the "buffer valve" of cultural exchanges is disturbed by the "chilling effect", and Sino-US relations are facing severe challenges in a steady and long-term manner. It is also necessary to build a bridge of cooperation based on common interests; shoulder common responsibilities and build a bridge of peace; connect a common vision and build a bridge of friendship.

Xie Feng emphasized that the long-term peaceful coexistence of China and the United States on this planet is both a responsibility and a must. We hope that the US side will work with China to implement the important consensus reached by the call between the two heads of state, and maintain communication, manage differences, expand cooperation and promote stable, healthy and sustainable development of China-US relations based on the principles of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and win-win cooperation. The US should establish a correct understanding of China. The most urgent task is that the US should truly abide by the one-China principle and properly handle the Taiwan issue in accordance with the three Sino-US joint communiqués.

The summit was jointly organized by Duke University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill student organizations. More than 150 people from the two countries, including the education, business, and strategic circles, including the George Bush U.S.-China Relations Foundation, Fang Dawei, Mayor of Durham, Williams, and Fan Min, Executive Director of the American Hindi Chinese Association.
