The communiqué shows that in 2024, the country completed afforestation of 4.446 million hectares, 3.224 million hectares of grass planting and improvement, 2.783 million hectares of desertified land were controlled, the forest coverage rate exceeded 25%, and the forest stock exceeded 20 billion cubic meters.

Director of the Ecological Protection and Restoration Department of the State Forestry and Grassland Administration: Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the State Forestry and Grassland Administration has continued to carry out large-scale land greening actions, continuously expanding forest area, accurately improving forest quality and efficiency, strictly protecting and managing forest resources, and continuously expanding green assets. my country has completed a total of 1.16 billion mu of forested areas, becoming the country with the fastest and most greening growth in the world.

In 2024, the "Three Norths" project took solid steps, and 32 billion yuan of central funds were allocated throughout the year, and the governance area exceeded 3.8 million hectares.

In 2024, new progress has been made in the systematic management of mountains, rivers, forests, fields, lakes, grasslands and sands. Organize and implement 176 "dual" engineering projects and 10 national land greening demonstration projects. Promote the implementation of 27 integrated protection and restoration projects for mountains, rivers, forests, fields, lakes, grasslands and sands, and have completed a total ecological protection and restoration area of ​​more than 5 million hectares.
