CCTV News: After the Spring Festival holiday, all localities will accelerate the construction of winter water conservancy. In response to the relatively weak flood control system in the Haihe River Basin, based on the investment in water conservancy construction exceeding 100 billion yuan in the past year, Hebei has accelerated the construction of water conservancy projects with additional treasury bonds this year.
The Beijumahe Storage Project, located in Zhuozhou, Hebei Province, has a total investment of 2.3 billion yuan. It is a key water conservancy project in Hebei Province and a water conservancy project supported by additional issuance of treasury bonds. The reporter saw at the project site that nearly 100 machines were operating day and night.
The Beijuma River is a tributary of the Daqing River system flowing through Zhuozhou City. It is divided into two branches in the west of Zhuozhou City, both located in the upper reaches of Zhuozhou. In the past, rivers lacked dams and control gates. Once floods occur, the downstream urban areas are vulnerable to severe impacts, and the safety of residents' lives and property faces a huge threat. The Beijuma River regulating and storage project under construction is to build two concrete gravity dams on the northern and southern branches, with a total storage capacity of 116 million cubic meters and a flood retention capacity of 70 million cubic meters. After the project is completed, the opening standards for Beijuma River in Xiaoqing River flood diversion area will be increased from once in five years to once in 10 years, and the flood control capacity will be significantly enhanced.
Eight water conservancy projects in Zhuozhou will be completed before the flood next year
The reporter learned in the interview that with the tilting support of treasury bond funds in the past two years, Zhuozhou has successively launched 8 water conservancy projects, including the Beijuma River storage project, and will be completed before the flood in 2026. After these projects are completed, the overall flood control system in Zhuozhou will be basically built.
The reporter learned from the Hebei Provincial Department of Water Resources that among the 483 national water conservancy funds projects issued by Hebei last year, 216 water-destroying projects were completed before the flood season that year, and other projects are being carried out in an orderly manner.
