CCTV News (News Network): The China Federation of Logistics and Procurement released the first quarter cold chain logistics operation data on May 18. Driven by policies such as stabilizing growth and promoting consumption, the demand for cold chain logistics has steadily increased, and the market size has continued to expand.
In the first quarter of this year, the total amount of cold chain logistics was 2.21 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4%. Catering consumption remained strong, with online retail sales of fruits and vegetables increasing by more than 15% year-on-year. In the first quarter of this year, the cold storage project investment was 8.746 billion yuan, an increase of 9.42% year-on-year. At present, a number of high-standard cold storages are being constructed at accelerating speed. In addition, driven by the national subsidy policy, sales of new energy refrigerated vehicles have maintained rapid growth. In the first quarter, sales of new energy refrigerated trucks increased by more than 70% year-on-year.
As the weather warms up, fresh agricultural products are gradually entering the peak consumption season. It is expected that the sales of fruits and vegetables, dairy products, quick-frozen foods and other products will increase significantly. The cold chain logistics market size is expected to continue to expand in the second quarter.
