13 national standards cover chemical industry, coal and other industries will be implemented from May 1st

CCTV News2025-05-15

The reporter learned from the National Standards Committee today that from May 1, 13 mandatory national standards for energy consumption limits, including the "Energy Consumption Limit for Unit Products in Refining and Chemical Industry", will be officially implemented. It is estimated that the effective implementation of this batch of standards will bring about energy-saving benefits of 24.52 million tons of standard coal per year.

This batch of standards covers many important national economic industries such as chemical industry, coal, mining, and papermaking. It stipulates the energy consumption limit levels, technical requirements, statistical scope and calculation methods of related products. It is applicable to the calculation of energy consumption limits of production enterprises and the energy consumption control of new construction, renovation and expansion projects. It will effectively promote the elimination of backward production capacity and guide enterprises to improve energy efficiency through energy-saving transformation, optimization of process routes, and carrying out energy efficiency benchmarking.

As of now, my country has a total of 61 mandatory national standards for effective energy consumption limits, covering key industries such as steel, building materials, petrochemicals, nonferrous metals, coal, electricity, heat, mining, light industry, etc., and has basically achieved full coverage of high-energy-consuming industries. The relevant standards provide strong support for promoting large-scale equipment updates and achieving the goal of energy conservation and carbon reduction.
