The Ministry of Water Resources guides all localities to strengthen water source scheduling and implement scientific irrigation. At present, spring irrigation has begun in most parts of the country. Provinces that have not yet opened irrigation will seize the opportunity to do a good job in water storage and retention. Northeast and other places are actively making preparations before irrigation and filling the channels with water in advance. The ice-melting pump in the Qinglongshan Irrigation District of Heilongjiang has started to store water in advance. As of now, the cumulative water storage has exceeded 40 million cubic meters, ensuring the water demand for fields in the entire irrigation area. The gates have been opened to release water at the head of the main canal of Hetao Irrigation District, Inner Mongolia, and the spring and summer irrigation work in 2025 has officially started.

At present, the Ministry of Water Resources also urges local governments to coordinate water storage and retention, ensure the quality of irrigation water, and further improve the level of irrigation water safety guarantee.
